Joshua C. Nordstrom was elected as a County Commissioner in 2018 and is currently serving his first term in office. He represents the County Commissioners as Treasurer for the Tri-County Council (TCC) for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. Commissioner Nordstrom grew up in Pocomoke, where he graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1990. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C. in 1995 and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Public Administration from Wilmington University in 2020. He is currently pursuing a second MS in Organizational Leadership through Wilmington University.
He served as the public relations director for Nordstrom Automotive Group from 2010-2018. In addition, he is an active community member who currently serves on the Lower Shore Family YMCA Advisory Board, American Red Cross Board of Directors, Crisfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as the Vulnerable Populations Task Force, and Food Bank in Pocomoke. He is also an active member of the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Eastern Shore, and Pocomoke Elks Lodge #1624. He is the former president of the Pocomoke Chamber of Commerce, and previously served on the Worcester County Economic Development Advisory Board and the Worcester County Public Schools Education Foundation. Commissioner Nordstrom resides in Pocomoke.
