Joshua C. Nordstrom was elected as a County Commissioner in 2018 and is currently serving his first term in office. Commissioner Nordstrom grew up in Pocomoke, where he graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1990. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from George Washington University (GW) in Washington, D.C. in 1995. He also earned two Master of Science (MS) degrees from Wilmington University in Public Administration in 2020 and in Organizational Leadership in 2021.
Commissioner Nordstrom, who served as the public relations director for Nordstrom Automotive Group from 2010-2018, is active in the community. He volunteers with the Lower Shore Vulnerable Populations Task Force and the Pocomoke Food Pantry. He is also an active member of the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation, Big Brothers Bif Sisters (BBBS) of the Eastern Shore, and Pocomoke Elks Lodge #1624. He previously served on the Lower Shore Family YMCA Advisory Board and the American Red Cross Board of Directors. He is the former president of the Pocomoke Chamber of Commerce, and he previously served on the Worcester County Economic Development Advisory Board and the Worcester County Public Schools Education Foundation.
