Snow Hill, Maryland – Worcester County Emergency Services (WCES) officials strongly urge all citizens to remain indoors and off roadways to allow road crews, emergency personnel, and utility providers to operate safely and effectively to clear secondary roads of snow, downed trees, and power lines following the blizzard.
Unnecessary travel places increased risks to drivers, can cause significant delays for public safety officials responding to emergencies, and slows snow removal and debris-clearing efforts.
Residents are reminded:
-Stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary.
-Keep roadways clear of parked vehicles, trash cans, and other obstructions.
-Avoid downed power lines, and report outages directly to your electric provider.
-Check on neighbors, particularly the elderly or vulnerable once conditions are safe to do so.
Worcester County will continue to provide updates as conditions improve. Officials thank residents for their patience and cooperation as crews work to restore safe travel conditions as quickly as possible.
