Use this page to begin your rental license application. A complete and accurate submission ensures faster processing (typically 2–3 weeks). Please gather all required documents before submitting.

The license shall notify the County of any changes affecting the rental property, including changes in property management or mailing address, discontinuation of rental operations, nonrenewal of the rental license, or conversion between short-term and long-term rental use.

• Step 1: Confirm Eligibility

  • Property must be in Unincorporated Worcester County.
  • Property in Ocean City, Berlin, Pocomoke City, or Snow Hill are handled bt the respective municipality where applicable.

• Step 3: Gather Required Documents

  • Rental License Application & Owner's Signature Sheet
  • Short-term rental addendum (when applicable)
  • Lease or Rental Agreement
  • Site Plan / Survey
  • Floor Plan(s) drawn to scale
  • Fee payment (check payable to Worcester County)

• Step 4: Submit Your Application

  • Option 1 : In-Person

  • Option 2: By Mail
    • Mail all documents and fee to the same address above (Check made payable to Worcester County)

• Step 5: What Happens Next

  • Staff reviews all submitted documents
  • Processing Time: Typically 2-3 weeks
  • Any missing items or unpermitted structures must be resolved before the license is issued.
  • Once issued, license must be Posted at the Property and Advertisements Must Include the License Number.
