Snow Hill, Maryland - Effective immediately, Worcester County Fire Marshal Matthew Owens has issued a burn ban, and ALL outdoor burning is banned for an indefinite period of time in Worcester County.
Traffic Alert: WOC roadway milling and paving projects in early May in and around Lake Place, Riggin Ridge Road, Meadow Drive, Snug Harbor Road and the harbor area.
County Roads Division contractor Allan Myers will begin milling these county roads on or about Monday, May 4.
Repaving operations are expected to begin the following Monday, May 11.
May 7-8 Public Works Parking Lot to be Closed for Repaving
The parking lot serving the Public Works Administration building at 6113 Timmons Road in Snow Hill will be repaved Thursday-Friday, May 7-8, weather permitting. During this time, the office will be closed to the public for safety reasons.

Worcester County, MD — The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office, in coordination with Worcester County Environmental Programs (WCEP), is advising residents and visitors to exercise heightened caution with any outdoor burning due to continued dry conditions across the region.

To mark the occasion, the Worcester County Commissioners and Health Department officials will host a ribbon cutting ceremony that morning at 10 a.m.
Snow Hill, Maryland – the public is invited to attend a hearing on proposed water and wastewater rate changes for fiscal year 2027. The hearing will take place May 5, 2026 at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the Worcester County Government Center in Snow Hill.
Rate increases are proposed in 10 of the County’s 11 water and wastewater sanitary service areas (SSAs). No changes are proposed for the West Ocean City SSA.
Worcester County Government offices, including all five Branch Libraries, will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026 for Good Friday. Normal business hours will resume Monday, April 6.
Recreation and Parks will be closed Friday through Sunday, April 3-5, and will resume standard hours of operation on April 6.
