Snow Hill, Maryland – Worcester County Public Works has contracted with Allan Myers to mill and pave Manklin Creek and Cathell Roads in Ocean Pines this April.
April 21, crews will begin milling and paving Manklin Creek Road. Public Works crews recommend using Cathell Road as an alternate route during this paving project, which should take five to seven days to complete.

Snow Hill, Maryland (March 11, 2024) – Construction activities to upgrade the Riddle Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) are underway. Early activities include dewatering. This process involves pumping groundwater away from the site and into the drainage ditch that runs parallel to Grays Corner Road in the vicinity of the WWTP.
Wednesday, March 12, a portion of Bishopville Road will be closed while crews replace a failed crossroad pipe. The project should take one day to complete. DETOUR: Motorists can utilize MD Rt. 113 to Peerless Road to Campbelltown Road. For more information, please call the Roads Division at 410-632-2244.
Get set for the launch of a whole host of spring programs with Worcester County Recreation & Parks (WCRP). Registration opened February 12, and there are two ways to register. Sign up online at worcesterrecandparks.org or in-person at the Worcester County Recreation Center located at 6030 Public Landing Road in Snow Hill.
Worcester County Public Works Water and Wastewater (WWW) Division staff will be replacing touch pad water meter registers in Ocean Pines, Mystic Harbour, and Newark water service areas now through the end of 2025 during normal business hours. Because water meter pits should always remain easily accessible, property owners in these areas are asked not to park over water meter pits, place mulch or any other covering over the lids, or erect yard decorations in areas that could block access to the meter pits.
Public Works encourages drivers to exercise caution following recent snowfall, advises will begin salt brine treatments today as temps rise above 20 degrees.
An average of 1 1/2 inches of snow fell across the county last night. Historically, the County doesn’t begin plowing operations until accumulations reach 3 inches or more. Plowing less than 3 inches of snow produces sporadic results, as the snow lacks the volume to clump up and be effectively removed from the roadway.

The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will be open Monday during standard hours of operation.
