April 19, 2022 - Injured Firefighters from Ocean Pines Vehicle Fire

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated a vehicle fire this morning in Ocean Pines which injured several firefighters and completely consumed the vehicle. At approximately 11:26 AM the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 16 Wood Duck Drive for a reported vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, crews observed a work van in the driveway of the residence well involved with fire.

April 13, 2022 - Assisted Ocean Pines and Assisted Berlin FD with MVA

On Wednesday, April 13, 2022 we were requested to assist the Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Company and Ocean Pines PD with an incident located at 56 Battersea Road in Ocean Pines.  First responding units from both the fire service and the police department located an unconscious, unresponsive occupant.  A vehicle, located in an attached garage, was found running and it appeared the vehicle had been running for an extended period of time due to the conditions in the garage and the CO levels in the house.  The State of Maryland Medical Examiner’s Office also assisted with

April 12, 2022 - WOC Dwelling Fire

On Tuesday, April 12, 2022 we were requested for a residential structure fire located at 12316 Old Bridge Road, Ocean City, to assist the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company.  The Berlin Volunteer Fire Company responded to assist with the extinguishment of the fire.  The house was not occupied at the time of the fire.  The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported.  There was extensive fire damage to the single family dwelling.

Bishopville House Fire

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire in a single family home located at 11811 St. Martin’s Neck Road in Bishopville, Maryland (today’s date). The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Arriving fire units reported heavy smoke emitting from the home. Volunteer Fire Companies from Showell, Bishopville, Ocean Pines, Ocean City and Sussex County Delaware responded to the 6:40AM fire. No injuries were reported.  The fire is still under investigation and no fire cause has been determined as of this release.”

June 22, 2021 WOC Fire Determined Arson

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire which occurred on June 22, 2021 at 12847 Harbor Road in West Ocean City, Maryland to be intentional (or Arson). The 1:51AM fire destroyed an unoccupied home and boat house and also damaged three additional houses.  Two firefighters received injuries while battling the fire.

Several Structures Damaged In West Ocean City House Fire

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire in a single family home located at 12849 Harbor Road in West Ocean City, Maryland (today’s date). The fire also damaged three adjacent single family homes. The structure of fire origin was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Arriving fire units reported a single family home and an adjacent out-building on fire. Volunteer Fire Companies from Berlin, Ocean City and Ocean Pines responded to the 1:51AM fire.

Homeless Woman Burned in West Ocean City

“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office has investigated a fire in which a 46 year old homeless woman was burned earlier this morning (Saturday, February 20, 2021).  The woman who had returned to her make-shift shelter off Elm Street in West Ocean City, Maryland was filling her kerosene heater when a fire occurred.  She received burns to her hands and feet while she was trying to extinguish the fire.  The subject suffered burns to her feet and hands.  She was transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury by Ocean City EMS.  The Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company extinguished the fire.  The ca
