“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office has determined the fire which occurred on June 22, 2021 at 12847 Harbor Road in West Ocean City, Maryland to be intentional (or Arson). The 1:51AM fire destroyed an unoccupied home and boat house and also damaged three additional houses. Two firefighters received injuries while battling the fire.
“The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire in a single family home located at 12849 Harbor Road in West Ocean City, Maryland (today’s date). The fire also damaged three adjacent single family homes. The structure of fire origin was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Arriving fire units reported a single family home and an adjacent out-building on fire. Volunteer Fire Companies from Berlin, Ocean City and Ocean Pines responded to the 1:51AM fire.

The woman who had returned to her make-shift shelter off Elm Street in West Ocean City, Maryland was filling her kerosene heater when a fire occurred. She received burns to her hands and feet while she was trying to extinguish the fire. The subject suffered burns to her feet and hands.
