Snow Hill, Maryland – (June 21, 2024): Effective immediately, Worcester County Fire Marshal Matt Owens issued a burn ban, and ALL outdoor burning is banned for an indefinite period of time in Worcester County.
Worcester County Government (WCG) offices, including all five Branch Libraries and Recreation and Parks, will be closed Wednesday, June 19, 2024, for Juneteenth, National Freedom Day.
The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will also be closed.
WCG offices will resume standard operating hours on Thursday, June 20.
Nassawango Road – partial closure June 11
A portion of Nassawango Road will be closed on Tuesday, June 11th to install new pipes under the road. The work should be completed that same day. Detour: motorists may utilize Whitesburg Road to Oak Hall Road to Scotty Road. For further information, contact the Roads Division at 410-632-2244.
Snow Hill, Maryland (June 10, 2024) – The Worcester County Commissioners appointed Katy Vieira to serve as the emergency preparedness manager within the Worcester County Department of Emergency Services (WCDES). Vieira stepped into her new position in late 2023.

On June 4, 2024, the Worcester County Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Operating Budget of $261,917,617.
“This is a fiscally conservative budget that allocates funding to cover vital public services and needed capital projects without burdening property owners and taxpayers,” Worcester County Commissioner President Chip Bertino said. “I want to thank our staff, agencies, and department heads on their partnership to ensure that taxpayer money is allocated judiciously.”
