Worcester County Recreation Center Closed Monday Following Water Main Break


Snow Hill, Maryland (February 13, 2023) - Due to a water main break in Snow Hill, the Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC) closed today, Feb. 13, at 1:00 p.m.

Line dancing, yoga, and drop in soccer programs are cancelled for this evening.

The afterschool program will take place as scheduled at an alternate venue, and all parents and guardians have been contacted about program changes.

The WCRC will reopen to the public Feb. 14.

 

Snow Hill Home Owner Convenience Center Reopens Following Renovations

February 6, 2023, the Snow Hill Home Owner Convenience Center (HOCC) reopened to the public. This facility was closed for 90 days for repairs. The newly renovated center includes new concrete bulkheads and a new ramp for ease of access.

Worcester County operates four HOCCs. The Berlin, Pocomoke, and Snow Hill HOCCs operate during the following hours:

Time Change: January 17, 2023 Public Hearings on Bills 23-01 and 23-02 Moved to 11:45 a.m.

Snow Hill, Maryland – The time of two public hearings to take place during the Worcester County Commissioners’ meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 have been modified.

The public hearings on Bill 23-01 Private Lanes and Bill 23-02 Electrical Standards have been moved from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Full copies of both bills are available on the county website at www.co.worcester.md.us

Worcester County Government Closed Monday, January 16th

Worcester County Government offices, including all five Branch Libraries and Recreation and Parks, will be closed Monday, January 16, 2023, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, January 17.

The Central Landfill and Homeowner Convenience Centers will be open Monday during standard hours of operation.

Applications Available Online for Non-Profit Grants from Worcester County Government

Snow Hill, Maryland (January 9, 2023) – Worcester County Government (WCG) is accepting grant applications from area non-profit agencies now through Monday, February 6, 2023.

Revised Worcester County Government Christmas and New Year Holiday Schedules

Snow Hill, Maryland (December 21, 2022) – The following Worcester County Government (WCG) offices will be closed this Friday and Monday, December 23 and 26, and January 2 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays: Worcester County Government Center, Cape Isle of Wight satellite offices, Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC), and Worcester County Library.

Registration is Open for Youth Active Start Sports with Worcester County Recreation and Parks

Worcester County Recreation and Parks is launching its ever-popular Active Start Youth Sport Development Programs this winter for children of all skill levels. These sport-specific programs prepare children for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment by teaching the fundamentals of play, while encouraging an appreciation for being physically fit and healthy.

Worcester County Recreation & Parks Serves Up Adult Volleyball Leagues This Winter

Worcester County Recreation Parks is offering co-ed and women’s volleyball leagues at the Worcester County Recreation Center (WCRC) in Snow Hill this January. 

Co-Ed Volleyball will take place Sundays from 1-3 p.m. beginning January 8. The registration deadline is January 5. The coaches meeting will take place January 5 at the WCRC at 7 p.m. This league will be made up of teams with two women playing at all times.

Sign Up for Winter Youth Leagues with Worcester County Recreation & Parks

Registration is open for Worcester County Recreation & Parks youth sports leagues at the Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill, providing participants with plenty of opportunities to get active and have fun this winter season. Youth leagues provide opportunities for young athletes to play with others in a structured, game-play environment.
